8 laps around the globe in 26 days

Never before has there been more distance cycled in the RWS!

This year’s championship is the largest in history, measured by both the number of teams and kilometers cycled.
It’s incredibly impressive how dedicated the cyclists have been this year - whether they were competing for top placements or aiming for personal bests.

When the last cyclists crossed the finish line, the distance counter stopped at 333,230 km. That’s over 100,000 km more than last year, equating to 8.3 laps around the globe!

As a side note, the distance from the globe to the moon is 384,400 km. So, with just a few more days of competition, they could have said they cycled to the moon. Truly amazing!

There were 256 teams registered from 10 nations, and the number of signed up cyclists reached over 6,900.

Note: an indoor exercise bike generates more kilometers than an outdoor bike.
