The award ceremony took place in Oslo during the annual conference of the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA) on November 9, with Ferd Social Entrepreneurs as hosts.

- There is a lot of talk about fintech, but medtech is just as important. Motitech combines innovative digital training solutions to enhance the quality of life among seniors and people with dementia. This is a win-win situation for all involved, "says Johan H. Andresen, chairman of the Board to sosentkonferansen.no

Great inspiration

– It's a great honor for us all in Motitech to win the award of the Year's Social Entrepreneur 2017! It is a great acknowledgment and inspiration in our work to contribute to better health among the elderly and people with dementia, both here in Norway and internationally, says CEO Jon Ingar Kjenes.

This year's competition has an international focus, and scaling and growth in new markets is an important criterion.
The jury emphasizes that Motitech has a clear social mission, contributing both to healthcare and social solutions.

- Motitech is a worthwhile winner in many ways. With an aging population and pressure on resources in the welfare society, we must use new and innovative solutions to meet our needs. Motitech can already show results while at the same time having a significant scaling and growth potential with the same basic concept, says Andresen.

The Social Entrepreneur of the Year is an honorary award granted to a social entrepreneur that has developed an exceptional solution to social challenges. Emphasis is placed on innovation, a double bottom line, and potential for growth.
